St Kevin's young chargers will start their quest for back to back Premierships this weekend, as finals fever hits the Under 19 competitions.

19 Premier

SKOB's Premier side finished fourth in a season where the top four teams in the competition were clearly a couple of classes above the rest of the competing teams.  The 5 game difference between fourth and fifth a great indication of the gulf.

SKOB finished the season with a 12 win and six loss season, played some terrific football throughout and also provided a number of players with the opportunity to represent SKOB at Senior level.

SKOB's opponents in the do or die clash are De La Salle (13-5).  De La had the edge over SKOB in the home and away rounds, defeating the boys from the King in Round One by 19 points and by 37 points in Round 8 at Waverley Oval. In the return match at TH King in round 12, an inaccurate SKOB took the chocolates by 33 points.

The stage is set for another great encounter between the cross-town rivals - we encourage all SKOBBERS to get along to Waverley Oval to cheer on the boys.

19 Premier Reserves

SKOB's second 19 side also face De La Salle in Saturday's Second Semi Final.  Thirteen wins saw the side finish in top spot, two points clear of the second placed De La Salle and earn the all important double chance.

Ranked number one in attack and in defence, SKOB's 19 Reserves have a one win and two loss record in meetings between the two sides.  Round 1 saw De La kick clear after a second quarter blitz to run out eventual 44 point winners. In Round eight, it was SKOB's turn to blitz the opposition in one quarter of football.  A six goal third term enabling SKOB to square the ledger at one win apiece.  Oskar Zemdegs was star of the show finishing with five goals.

The sides final clash in round 12 saw De La lead from start to finish to record a 24 point win. SKOB never recovered from a disappointing opening term, conceding six goals to zip. Oskar again was the best of the SKOB forwards booting three.

Previous results will count for little on Saturday, finals being a totally different ballgame.  The winner of Saturday's game will advance straight to the Grand Final in a fortnight's time. The loser will face the winner between Old Xavs and St Bernard's. SKOB will need to be at its best if the are to advance the big dance this week.
